Everyone is in sales
Let’s call it what it is for a moment – Business. Doing business involves bringing together many different functions and roles to deliver a singular outcome; the positive growth of a business. We know this, yet often within a company we can miss the simple truth that ultimately, every role is supporting a sales outcome. Why is this important? It’s important because sometimes people in certain roles don’t feel the same burden or urgency to really know what their company does or sells. You can ask people in different roles to explain the real work the company does and how it positions itself in the market and you’ll get many different answers, many of which are misaligned and wrong.
Do you know what you are selling? Do you understand the nuances of successfully positioning your company’s offering? Don’t assume your role means that you are not selling. We are all selling, all the time.
