Some things are underrated in life: the importance of customer service, the need for process and structure, and, without doubt, the value of respect as a visible part of a relationship.
We take respect for granted. We assume it exists in our relationships just because we can be polite or cordial, but respect goes further. Respect communicates interest and thoughtfulness.
I believe showing respect in all relationships is something that exists as a basic principle, but consider the following:
– Respect without relationship equals indifference
– Relationship without respect equals distance
– Together, respect and relationship equal what the most positive experience can look like
We can decide what type of relationship we want with others, but they all demand respect.
