The T-shaped role for Lead System Analyst with Product owner skills is a key leadership role in Scaled Agile Framework, Pod and Squad model for one or more business units consisting of cross-functional squads comprised of a Squad Lead, Developers, a System Analyst, and Quality Assurance Engineers. As a servant leader, we will depend on you to collaborate with teams in the successful design and delivery of complex application solutions centred on the strategic roadmap for one or more key technology capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

As a Lead Systems Analyst / Product Owner, you will be primarily responsible for line management, coaching, mentoring, and training a team of system analysts overseeing the tactical execution of requirements elicitation and elaboration in our scaled agile model.
We will count on you to:

• Be a highly motivated team player working within Agile culture, within a specified agile framework of Scrum or KANBAN and maintain a willingness for continuously improving your agile mindset.
• Manage, coach and mentor a team of system analysts working on strategic initiatives across multiple teams.
• Run agile assessments processes for the Pods and connect with leadership to provide understanding of constructive feedback which can improve the Systems Analyst function, standards and processes in Global Technology.
• Coordinate analysis on critical initiatives requiring significant strategic change across multiple platforms and products.
• Work together with Product Owners to research feature requests, create personas, user story maps, user journey maps, define value, and product road maps.
• Work with the Product Owner to communicate the product vision, roadmap, value, and MVP to the agile teams to enable empathy and a shared understanding thereby helping the team to formulate an appropriate solution.
• Collaborate with the Product Owners and agile teams in the creation and maintenance of Product Backlogs ensuring that product backlog items are continuously prioritized and aligned to the Product Roadmap and MVP.
• Ensure that teams are consistently converting the business requirements to solutions, consisting of features, epics and stories, considering technical constraints and existing technical architecture/functionality.
• Facilitate refinement sessions with the Agile Teams and Business to sufficiently detail out User Stories, to include dependencies.
• Facilitate the Sprint Review ceremony by working with the agile teams, Product Owner, Business and Customer to review, assess and adapt the latest product increment by incorporating customer insights and feedback into the Product Backlog.
• Demonstrate an awareness of Technical, Security and Process Standards and work with the team to incorporate them in product delivery through the software development life cycle.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• 10+ years of experience in a system analyst or business analyst role in an IT agile environment managing 4 or more direct reports.
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving.
• An analogous thinker, recognizing, connecting and leveraging patterns and trends of information and experiences that lead to potential process and future development enhancements.
• A casual thinker, differentiating between symptoms and effects; in search of a true root cause as a basis for ideating solutions
• Encourages working beyond typical attitudes of compromise and complacency that limit creativity.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and provide intense focus to those that are most important to the enterprise.
• Proven requirements gathering skills showcasing an ability to capture business processes using both existing process documentation and process walkthroughs with the staff performing the process.
• Ability to remove impediments for squads by providing timely responses and solutions as required.
• Proven quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to find resolutions regarding own work methods requiring minimal direction.
• An Agile Mindset with an in-depth understanding of Agile Principles.
• Self-motivated and ability to learn quickly through research and self-training.
• Ability to absorb new technologies quickly.
• Must have prior experience as an IT Systems Analyst or IT Business Analyst working as part of an agile team using an Agile Workflow tool such as JIRA or TFS.
