Resolution or renovation - a designer working at desk with graphics tablet

Design is how it works.

Steve Jobs once said “Most people make the mistake of thinking design is what is looks like. People think it’s this veneer – that the designers are handed this box and told, ‘Make it look good!’ That’s not what we think design is. It’s not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.”

When you think of your own organization, products, and services and consider how things work, deliberate on “how it works”. That’s how it was designed (or not, as the case may be). To really take your products and services to the next level, design needs to be considered holistically. For great products, no stone can be left unturned.

What part of your product and service needs the most attention based on how it works? How would you re-design it to make it great?
