How do you reward yourself for a job well done?
There are so many tiny victories along the path to achieving all our goals, and it is wise to not let them go unnoticed! When we reach a certain level of our careers, it is easy to continue to push for the next big thing and there is the potential to neglect the small moments, and to forget what it took to get us to where we are. I’ve worked many jobs over the years for free, or for very little, or where I wasn’t valued or respected in order to be where I am today. It took effort, diligence, sweat, and tears and each little milestone along the way was worthy of a celebration, especially because I fought hard for each one. As grateful as I am to be at a place where thinking bigger picture is possible, I believe in the power of tiny victories, and tiny celebrations. Being able to celebrate in all season of life, of wealth, of success, and of experience is a trait that I believe will enhance quality of life and quality of work overall.
Take a moment to reflect at the end of each day: what did you achieve? Is there an opportunity to acknowledge a tiny victory? Choosing a mindset of celebration today will set you up with more reasons to be victorious tomorrow.
